Diagnostic indications

Multiplex Ligation-dependent Probe Amplification (MLPA) for the detection of copy number changes (deletions / duplications) in a parallel approach with up to 50 different DNA fragments. The methodology includes 4-5 steps: DNA denaturation + hybridization of the MLPA samples, ligation, PCR + separation of the amplification products by capillary electrophoresis. Changes in copy number are detected using different curve heights or areas versus controls, respectively.
